When I hear the word new, I tend to lean in. It’s a word that can mean not existing before now and already existing but now available for the first time. Think of new invention, new discovery, new baby, new car. Inventions and discoveries, babies and cars–these exist in the world.
But perhaps this invention or that discovery are brand new. Perhaps this car is new to me (used though it may be). Perhaps that baby is newly conceived, newly discovered, newly born, or newly loved. New is a word that bears, among other things, the magic of possibility.
My mind gravitates to fresh beginnings, recently acquired ideas, and creations of all sorts. I adore all three.
I can find a fresh beginning after the elapse of any amount of time. I collect my own new-to-me ideas in journals and on napkins, in the Notes app and in good old fashioned file folders. But, oh! The feeling of a new project, when all is possibility and discovery! New puzzles to solve. New research to decipher. A new story to tell. New ways to say old things.
Besparc is about acquiring this feeling of new, spending it entirely, and finding it again. Maybe the research issue is old in your sphere; for us, that issue introduces a new edge, a novel perspective. Maybe an idea has rattled around in your soul for many years; for us, that idea is new because we aren’t you.
As the new year approaches, the team at Besparc anticipates with calm joy the newness that every project will bring. Let us embrace what may not be new to you and return it with revitalized understanding and perspective.
